Facebook Starts Piloting NFTs From Ethereum And Polygon

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has begun rolling out NFT on its flagship social networking site to some US users.

Meta is piloting the integration of NFT from Ethereum and Polygon to the Facebook platform and will soon add NFT running on the Solana and Flow ecosystems. Meta Product Manager Navdeep Singh shared an overview of NFT implementation in a tweet yesterday.

Accordingly, users can find NFT in the “Digital Collectibles” tab in the Facebook profile section. If deployed widely, users can connect crypto wallets directly to the social as well as freely transform NFT into posts, completely able to express feelings, comment, and share like any other post. any other post. Meta has yet to confirm whether Facebook’s NFT features will be available to all users.

Media and technology consultant Martin Bryant argues that Meta “clearly wants to give a real Web3 home,” as the company also recently experimented with some changes to make Facebook Groups look more like Discord.

The social media giant is also rolling out NFT on Instagram. The world’s most popular visual social network shared that NFTs posted or shared on the app automatically tag both the artist owner and the NFT collector. In addition, the company emphasized that it will not charge any fees to platform users. Collectors will also be able to share their NFTs as augmented reality stickers.
