The blockchain company Ripple has strengthened its legal staff by hiring two Kellogg Hansen attorneys.
The two recently hired attorneys, Kylie Chiseul Kim and Clayton J. Masterman, will defend one of the major cryptocurrency players in its protracted legal struggle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In the aforementioned case, Judge Analisa Torres has granted each party’s application for admission to practice pro hac vice.
The addition of the new counsel raises the possibility that the duration of the case may increase.
The CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, told Axios last month that if the court ruled in favor of the SEC, his company would leave the United States.
Garlinghouse claimed in April that by concentrating on other markets, the corporation was acting “as if it had already lost.”
Ripple Labs’ general counsel, Stuart Alderoty, predicted that a solution will most likely materialize around 2023.
