American Cancer Society Claims Donations Using Dogecoin Are Popular
Dogecoin is the third most given cryptocurrency to the American Cancer Society, a non-profit health organization dedicated to curing cancer. 4% of the donations received by the American Cancer Society are made up of the most well-known meme coin.
American Cancer Society began taking donations in May 2021 using Dogecoin
With the aid of The Giving Block, a well-known cryptocurrency donation solution, the organization enables the use of a wide range of different cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin rival Shiba Inu.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) started its Cancer Crypto Fund campaign last year with the goal of raising $1 million to advance cancer research. This year, the objective was eventually accomplished. According to the group, cryptocurrency donation has already had a “real impact.”
The largest individual donation to the ASL Cancer Crypto Fund to date was made in October by Christian Linge of SafeBreast Inu, who gave $250,000. The non-profit health organization was founded far back in 1913 by New York businessmen and doctors.
By educating doctors, patients, and family members, the founders hoped to increase awareness of the illness. The majority of the ASL’s funding goes toward patient support and cancer research. Following the significant cryptocurrency bull run of 2021, meme coins gained popularity among various philanthropic organizations.
In late December, the leading breast cancer charity in the world, Susan G. Komen, began collecting Shiba Inus and Dogecoin. The American non-profit National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) began accepting 30 different cryptocurrencies last month.
