Solana’s Slope wallet has announced that it will pay a bonus of 10% of the total hacked amount if the hacker will refund the amount. The platform also promises not to pursue any legal action if the funds are refunded within 48 hours of notification.
Slope Wallet, the Solana wallet platform mined earlier this week for around $5 million, has announced that it will pay out a 10% bonus (worth around $450,000) if an attacker returns the stolen funds.
In a tweet posted on August 6, the Slope team posted a Solana address and appealed to the thief with an additional incentive to ask for a refund.
“Once we receive these funds, we will make no further efforts to investigate this matter or pursue any legal action.”
The team gave the attacker 48 hours to return the money and receive the bounty. It added that it worked with law enforcement departments and TRM, a leading blockchain intelligence firm, to recover the stolen funds.
An attacker accessed a user’s seed phrases that were stored in clear text on Slope’s centralized server and used them to steal cryptocurrency. The mining affected more than 8000 user wallets.
