According to a tweet from NFT and metaverse trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis on August 22, the music star known for her distinctive raspy voice joins a slew of organizations and brands foraying into the digital space after submitting two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on August 16 for ‘Miley’ and ‘Miley Cyrus.’

The trademark filings, according to Mr. Kondoudis, hint at the singer’s ambitions for NFTs, virtual currency management software, virtual clothes, and footwear. The trademarks are officially registered under serial numbers 97551201 and 97551195.

The announcement comes after fellow music artist Billie Eilish said in May that her company Lash Music LLC had filed a pair of trademark applications for her name and the Blohsh logo.

Eilish’s decision was not surprising given that Universal Music Group (UMG) just announced a relationship with NFT platform Curio. Billie Eilish is a well-known music artist under UMG.
