The world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance suddenly announced that it will be offering free trading for Ethereum (ETH) during the period leading up to The Merge upgrade.
On August 23, Binance announced that it will be waiving trading fees for the ETH/BUSD spot trading pair starting from 0 AM UTC on August 26, 2022, to 0 AM UTC on September 26, 2022.
Other offers for this trading pair will not be available for the next one month and will continue when the free trades program ends.
Binance further notes that it reserves the right to remove transactions that are considered wash-trading or any other transactions that show signs of market manipulation.
At the beginning of July, Binance also free trading fees for 13 BTC spot trading pairs and has yet to set an end date for this offer.
The exchange’s imposition of free time for ETH/BUSD transactions for only 1 month is also considered a stimulus program for Ethereum investors before The Merge.
Binance is also one of the exchanges that claim to support the Ethereum Proof-of-Stake chain but reserve the right to support other forked chains to maintain the Proof-of-Work mechanism.
