TravelX Launches With Tickets From Low-Cost Argentina Airline Flybondi
On Wednesday, the low-cost Argentine airline Flybondi began offering inventory on TravelX, a marketplace for tokenized travel goods.
According to TravelX (TX) Chief Blockchain Officer Facundo Martin Diaz, the site presently sells 2.5 million tickets, which are tokenized when purchased and converted into NFTs dubbed NFTickets.
A consumer can use TravelX’s peer-to-peer system to auction, sell, transfer, give, or exchange an NFTicket after purchasing it, according to Diaz. Users can finance the TravelX wallet, which is used to maintain the NFTickets, or use BinancePay to pay for tickets on the platform. The company is in discussions to incorporate other exchanges.
TravelX has made its infrastructure available so that other businesses
Built on the Algorand blockchain, TravelX has made its infrastructure available so that other businesses, such as exchanges or marketplaces, can utilize it to build their own marketplaces.
The platform aims to include the inventory of more than 60 airlines within the next six to twelve months, with a special emphasis on Latin American and European carriers. Diaz stated that the corporation will concentrate more on the United States and the Middle East in 2023.
According to Diaz, the business closed a $11 million seed investment headed by Borderless Capital in November and intends to raise a Series A fundraising round in the first quarter of 2023. The business employs 85 people.
