Binance Bridge Hacked: BNBChain Exploiter Has Bridged Around $89.5M
A Binance immediately stopped withdrawals and deposits while BNBChain was mined and hackers stole millions of dollars. According to the latest news from PeckShieldAlert Twitter Account – the real-time scam tokens and phishing sites detection – BNBChain exploiter has bridged approximately $89.5M.
Additionally, Binance confirmed on Reddit that around $100 million to $110 million worth of funds had initially been moved from the BNB Chain. However, after alarming feedback from security officials and community members, Binance confirmed that funds worth $7 million have been frozen.
This figure is updated at 23:30 UTC on 06 Oct 2022. The report showed that Bridge Assets by BSC token hub exploiter to other non-BSC chains, around 58% out to Ethereum, 33% out to Fantom, and 4.5% out to Arbitrum.
The BNBChain Team has the official announcement this early morning, confirming the on-chain hack. All withdrawals and deposits on this platform have been suspended, awaiting the new move. At that time, it is around $100 million was stolen
The official Binance handle also took to Twitter to note that the BNB chain will be halted for the time being, as it undergoes maintenance.
