Formula One Files 8 Trademarks Covering NFTs And Metaverse
After previously registering trademarks for the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit, Formula One (F1) continues to make advances into non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse realm.
On October 10, NFT and metaverse licensed trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis reported the filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on October 5.
According to Mr. Kondoudis, the trademark submissions will contain, among other things, cryptocurrency licensing, NFTs and crypto markets, retail outlets for virtual products, blockchain financial transactions, cryptocurrency trading, mixed reality settings, and crypto mining.
It’s worth noting that certain Formula One teams already have collaborations with crypto-related organizations. Notably, certain teams, like Red Bull, have sponsors from the cryptocurrency industry.
Individual teams, like the F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas and cryptocurrency exchange FTX, announced a joint NFT project at the same time. Several items will be complemented with a piece of an authentic F1 vehicle in this project.
CoinCu reported that McLaren Automotive, a British luxury automobile manufacturer, teamed with MSO LAB in April to create unique, limited-edition McLaren NFTs.
