Earlier today, the NFT Kumaleon project announced on their Twitter account that the project’s Discord account has been hacked. The targeted account has now been banned from the server and removed. The project also warns users to revoke wallet permissions and transfer funds to new wallets to avoid damage.
However, as noted by crypto security firm PeckShieldAlert, approximately 111 NFTs have been stolen, including BAYC #5313, ENS, ALIENFRENS, and Art Blocks.
Kumaleon is a collection of 3,000 NFT bear spawns created by digital artist Okazz on the Ethereum blockchain.
PeckShield previously tweeted some alarming data on October 31. The company claims that $2.98 billion in digital assets have been stolen as of that date, almost double from 1, $55 billion lost in all of 2021.
About 44 exploits affecting 53 protocols were used in “Hacktober”. A staggering $760 million was stolen by fraudsters in one month, but $100 million was recovered.
