The Bahamian authorities‘ inquiries add to the growing legal strain Bankman-Fried has been under since his FTX enterprise collapsed last week. The Securities and Exchange Commission in the US is investigating him to see if he violated any securities laws.

The Securities Commission of The Bahamas announced in the meantime that it had not instructed, authorized, or recommended to FTX Digital Markets Ltd. that withdrawal requests for Bahamian clients be processed first. In the past, FTX claimed that processing withdrawals of Bahamian funds were made in accordance with regulators in the Bahamas.

It is currently rumored that the former FTX CEO is moving to Dubai to avoid legal restrictions.
