As the first person to announce his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, Trump should have provided more details about his upcoming campaign, but that was not the case. He showed up and said he was going to make an important announcement and that was to introduce his first NFT collection.

“I’m doing my first official Donald J. Trump NFT collection right here and right now,(…). They’re called Trump Digital Trading Cards. These cards feature some of the really incredible artwork relating to my life. You can collect your Trump Digital Cards just like a baseball card or other collectibles.”

He said

According to the official website, each NFT costs $99 and was designed by illustrator Clark Mitchell. Additionally, these Trump Digital Trading Tokens are minted on the Polygon blockchain.

Each NFT includes an entry into the “Sweepstakes” for certain prizes. Only legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to enter the Official Donald Trump NFT Collection Sweepstakes.

The number of NFTs available for minting during the Sweepstakes Entry Period is capped at 45,000, including 44,000 NFTs available for purchase during that period.

The images released so far have all focused on the former President and are framed in the style of a baseball card. However, unlike most collectible trading cards, these cards feature the 45th President of the United States in some weird pose.

In one image he is riding an elephant; another saw him dressed as an astronaut with aviator sunglasses; while one shows him ripping off his suit and shooting lasers from his eyes. Something for everyone.

This collection comes out three years after Trump stated he is not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
