Optimism is introducing the AttestationStation in conjunction with organizations from throughout the ecosystem, including Clique, Flipside, Gitcoin Passport, Guild, nxyz, Otterspace, Trust Protocol, and Wonderverse, to develop a useful data library for the larger community.
These teams are either adding attestations to the contract, indexing event data so that developers can readily access it or integrating the AttestationStation into their existing products.
The Optimist NFT was one of the earliest applications of the AttestationStation, a permissionless primitive that anybody may read, add to, and build upon. It collects qualitative data about community actors, resulting in an essential data repository for the ecosystem.
The Optimist NFT cannot be transferred. Each address has the ability to mint one.
Optimism will be able to unleash a plethora of additional use cases in the future, including on-chain representative government, credit scores empowering the next generation of DeFi protocols, reputation profiles for DAO contributors and ecosystem players, and a plethora of decentralized social apps.
The Optimist NFT is currently in beta, and only those who voted in RetroPGF Round 2 are able to mint. Minting will be offered to more people in Q1 2023.
