A Ripple Attorney Withdraws From The Lawsuit

Nicole Tatz, an attorney for Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, has submitted a Motion to Withdraw as Counsel in the ongoing Ripple case.

She is leaving the legal firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, which is defending the Ripple CEO in the ongoing litigation, at the same time as she announces this. All other parties are still involved in the case in the interim.

Since the last submission was already submitted in the case, the requests for summary judgment have now been fully briefed. According to James K. Filan‘s forecast, Ripple is requesting the judge to find in its favor, and the decision is anticipated in the early months of 2023.

The matter won’t go to trial, according to Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who anticipates a conclusion in the first half of 2023. The XRP community members cross their fingers in anticipation of a favorable decision.

Two of Ripple Labs’ executives, CEO Bradley Garlinghouse and co-founder Christian Larsen, were charged with defrauding XRP investors by offering $1.3 billion in unregistered security sales when the SEC sued the company in December 2020.

The two executives filed a motion to dismiss the individual cases brought against them in April 2021. The response did not appear until March of this year when the motion to dismiss the case against each individual defendant was rejected.
