After months of lurking, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has finally been listed on Okcoin Japan, a Tokyo-based subsidiary of crypto exchange OKCoin.
OKCoinJapan replied to the Shiba Inu listing application in December, thanking the SHIB community for their “valuable comments.” The exchange then announced plans to list SHIB in February of this year, but did not specify when. The community’s hopes for this meme token to be listed on major Japanese exchanges have finally come true, beginning with the listing of OKCoin Japan.
OKCoinJapan stated in a blog post that it will begin processing “SHIB” on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Over the last year, SHIB has been listed on several cryptocurrency exchanges, increasing the possibility of its display.
According to WhaleStats, this has resulted in a significant increase in the number of holders, which are currently 1,307,594 SHIB holders. Shibarium’s beta launch is eagerly anticipated by the community, and as previously reported, SHIB lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has sent out invitations to all.
“So far, we have stated that Shibarium is a layer 2 (L2) blockchain that allows anyone to build a digital product, perform peer-to-peer transactions, and other fundamental capabilities. But that’s just the start. Shibarium is much more,” Kusama wrote on the Shiba Inu official blog.
Prior to that, Shiba Inu (SHIB) and three other altcoins have been added to the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume. Binance announced the addition of zero-knowledge (zk) SNARKS, a verification method that helps keep information secure, to its proof-of-reserve identification system in a new company blog post. Binance also announced the addition of four altcoins: SHIB, Polkadot (DOT), Solana (SOL), and Chiliz (CHZ).
