MEV Blocker RPC Launched To Protect Users From Sandwich Attacks

Key Points:

  • A group of Ethereum developers has joined forces to introduce MEV Blocker, a utility that claims to enable customers to deal on Ethereum without falling victim to maximum extractable value (MEV) bots.
  • MEV Blocker may be added to a crypto wallet as a special RPC endpoint, protecting users against frontrunning and sandwiching while using any Ethereum dApp.
  • The endeavor brings together industry heavyweights such as CoW Swap, Beaver Build, and Agnostic Relayer.
MEV Blocker, a utility that claims to enable individuals to deal on Ethereum without falling to maximum extractable value (MEV) bots, has been launched by more than 30 Ethereum projects.

MEV is a transaction fee levied on users of decentralized finance (DeFi). MEV bots may intercept and inflate prices for users during transactions like Ether exchanges, nonfungible token (NFT) purchases, and ENS registrations.

Remote procedure call (RPC) services often link users to blockchain nodes. Yet, our MEV Blocker has the added benefit of protecting users against MEV.

CoW Swap, Beaver Build, Agnostic Relayer, EigenPhi, Builder0x69, ZeroMEV, Balancer, Gelato, Gnosis DAO, bloXroute, 1inch, Safe, Paraswap, and others have joined the effort. It is a free and censorship-resistant method for dealing with the Ethereum ecosystem’s “$1.3 billion dollar issue.”

The joint effort intends to address the rising issue of MEV in the Ethereum ecosystem, which exposes users to getting inferior pricing on trades, NFT purchases, ENS name registrations, and liquidity provisioning as a result of MEV bot hijacking. Simply said, MEV makes economic circumstances for on-chain users more challenging.

MEV Blocker supports an auction amongst a network of “searchers” who are allowed to backrun your transactions. In exchange, they protect you against frontrunning and sandwich attacks, two forms of MEV that often abuse Ethereum users.

MEV Blocker may be added to a crypto wallet as a special RPC endpoint, protecting users against frontrunning and sandwiching while using any Ethereum DApp. According to the official statement, MEV Blocker rewards validators with at least 90% of the revenues from successful bids.
