The open-source Sui Wallet gives Sui users the ability to create addresses, view and manage assets on the Sui network, and interact with dApps. The Sui Wallet is a reference implementation for other potential wallets and applications in the Sui ecosystem. Finally, it will showcase the newest and most unique Sui abilities. The Sui Wallet repository will act as an essential ecosystem enabler as Sui begins to support large-scale use cases, Move-powered ownership models, and features other skills only found in Sui.
Sui Wallet will adapt based on input from the developer community. Make sure to join our Sui Discord and provide feedback directly on the #General or #Suggestions channels.
Sending SUI tokens from a Sui Wallet will cost the blockchain platform fee in SUI.
The path to Web3 adoption is genuinely an empowered developer community and ecosystem. The Sui team is building the best, high-performance blockchain for mass adoption – and the best ideas, apps, and businesses come from the community.
The Sui Wallet is an ecosystem education and support tool, not an actual wallet. We are open to cooperation and eager to see what our community will build. Current definitions of crypto wallets may need to be improved and optimized for rapid user adoption and large web2 migrations. As wallet builders start pushing for the following version, we also look forward to seeing what the Sui community dreams of.
Like most crypto wallets, Sui Wallet has 3 critical parts you must note:
You can use Sui Wallet to:
To use Sui Wallet, you must install a Chrome browser extension. You can use the extension with any browser that supports Chrome extensions from the Chrome Web Store.
If you don’t yet have a Sui Wallet, create a new one. To import an existing wallet, see Import an existing Sui Wallet.
Sui Wallet prompts you to enter your password when you open it after the first use.
If you lose access to your wallet, you can recover it only with the recovery phrase. If you lose the recovery phrase, you lose access to your wallet and any coins or NFTs stored in it.
You can use your Sui Wallet on multiple devices and browsers. After you create a Sui Wallet, use the 12-word recovery phrase to import your wallet to a new browser or device.
Sui Wallet prompts you to enter your password when you open it after the first use.
You can import an account from a previous installation of Sui Wallet or from another wallet provider. To import an account, the account address must be either 32 or 64 bytes.
To import an account to Sui Wallet
The wallet displays the Accounts page with the imported account listed.
You can export the private key for an account to import to another wallet. You should be very careful with the private key. Anyone can use the private key to import the associated account. If someone else knows your private key, they can take over the account and cause you to lose access to it. Never share a private key.
To export the private key for an account
You can then paste the private to import it to a different wallet.
To view the private key, make sure that no one can see your screen, and then click the crossed-out eye icon in the bottom right corner.
When you first open the wallet, you have no coins in it. You can add test SUI coins to your wallet using the faucet in Discord.
To get SUI test coins using the wallet After you install the wallet extension, click Request Devnet SUI tokens. In some cases, you can click it three times to get three tokens. Usually, you can click it once or twice and then it disappears. If this happens, you can find the button instead on the wallet settings page by clicking the three bars in the top-right corner of the wallet interface. The button is displayed there only after you successfully use it the first time (up to three requests). Note that you can request SUI coins only three times every 60 minutes. After you click the button, SUI test tokens appear in your wallet on the Coins tab.
To get SUI test coins through Discord
It’s near the top of the wallet and starts with 0x.
!faucet
command with your wallet address to request tokens:!faucet 0x6c04ed5110554acf59ff1b535129548dd9a0c741
Replace the address in the command with your wallet address.
The channel bot displays a message confirming your request.
You can change the active network for Sui Wallet. Currently, Sui Wallet supports Sui Devnet, Local, and Custom RPC URL. Use Devnet unless you have a local network for testing. To learn how to create a local network, see Create a Local Sui Network.
You can try out staking SUI to earn rewards. These rewards are not real and are for testing purposes only. When you stake SUI, you delegate your SUI tokens to a validator to stake. The validator then pays you rewards for delegating your SUI for them to stake. Note that SUI tokens have no value on test networks.

Your stake starts earning rewards at the start of the next epoch.
You can send coins from your wallet to another address.
You can use Sui Wallet to send an NFT to another address.
