CZ Now Unfollows Musk’s Twitter Raises Concern About $500 Million Investment
Key Points:
- Elon Musk has been unfollowed on Twitter by Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ).
- Musk’s love of memes and proclivity to tweet about them has become a well-known feature of his social media presence.
- Looks like CZ doesn’t like Twitter getting into crypto.
Numerous crypto-focused accounts claimed today that Binance CEO and Co-Founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) had unfollowed Elon Musk’s Twitter account.
It is unknown why Zhao, also known as CZ, opted to unfollow Musk. The decision has aroused conjecture regarding the motives behind the action and its possible influence on the cryptocurrency and technology sectors. Binance has stated, however, that its $500 million investment in Twitter from last year remains intact.
Zhao unfollowing Musk on Twitter piqued the interest of cryptocurrency aficionados, prompting questions and suspicion. Lucra, a Twitter user, theorized that Zhao unfollowed Musk since Twitter just collaborated with eToro rather than Binance, despite the fact that CZ helped finance his purchase of Twitter.
eToro launched a partnership with Twitter last month, allowing the social media giant’s followers to view real-time pricing for a broad selection of stocks, crypto, and other assets, as well as the ability to invest via eToro.
@Pauly0x seems to be a fan of the meme currency PEPE, which debuted in April and has swiftly gained popularity among investors and traders, surpassing major meme currencies SHIB and DOGE in terms of trading volume at one point. According to the aforementioned Twitter account, once Musk releases a crypto wallet for Twitter, PEPE will be its native currency.
According to the tweet, he thinks CZ does not like Twitter’s probable entry into the crypto arena, with the likely launch of a wallet and the introduction of crypto payments, which the community (particularly the Dogecoin community) anticipates within an undefined length of time.
Curiously, Musk just shared a meme with Pepe the Frog, the mascot of the PEPE coin. This corresponded with an almost 60% increase in the price of PEPE.
CZ and Elon Musk are both immensely important personalities in their respective fields, and their social media activities have been widely monitored. It remains to be seen how this latest event will affect the crypto community as a whole and how people see their connection.
Musk appointed Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s new CEO last week, he said that he would go on to other positions in the tech company.
