Recently, Wu reported that the X account of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin was suspected to have been hacked and used to post phishing links. This incident is not the first of its kind, as the founder of Uniswap and member of the Ethereum Foundation, Hayden Adams, had a similar experience in the past.
In Hayden’s case, the X account was hacked and many posts containing phishing links were sent out. One of those tweets urged UniswapX users to check if they were eligible for donated $UNI tokens by visiting a website hosted in Russia. This website was registered on the day of the hack, as pointed out by a X user.
Fortunately, members of the Crypto X community were quick to identify and warn others of the promoted scam. As a result, no damage was recorded from the user during the hacking process.
According to a report from CoinCu, the X account of Uniswap founder Hayden Adams has regained control, and the related scam tweets have been deleted. Uniswap Labs issued a warning about the hijacked account and warned users of fraudulent links related to airdrops and rewards.
