BNB Chain OpBNB Roadmap For 2024 Was Announced With Transaction Speed Support For Users

Key Points:
  • BNB Chain reveals the BNB Chain opBNB roadmap, focusing on high performance, low costs, and community collaboration.
  • The plan aims to boost transaction speed to 10,000 TPS and slash network fees by 90%, reducing costs to $0.0005 in six months.
  • opBNB introduces the AppChain architecture for diverse Layer 2 solutions and adopts Multiple Proof for a secure Optimistic Rollup.
In a strategic move to enhance performance and reduce costs, BNB Chain has officially launched the BNB Chain opBNB roadmap for 2024, emphasizing core design principles of High Performance and low Cost, AppChain Architecture, and Community Collaboration.

BNB Chain OpBNB Roadmap Unleashes Ambitious Transformation

The BNB Chain opBNB roadmap outlines a revolutionary plan to boost transaction speed and slash network fees by a staggering 90% for the Layer 2 network. BNB Chain aims to elevate processing capabilities to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) from the current 4,000 while simultaneously reducing costs to $0.0005 within six months. The initial fee cut, from $0.005 to $0.001, is expected to mark the first phase of this ambitious transformation.

The introduction of opBNB’s Data Availability layer design, executed through BNB Smart Chain (BSC) via EIP4844 and BNB Greenfield, is poised to achieve an impressive 10x reduction in transaction costs, setting a new standard in the blockchain landscape.

Furthermore, opBNB is committed to incorporating Multiple Proof (Fraud proof or ZK proof) in the OP Stack solution, providing a flexible and secure proof for Optimistic Rollup. This move positions opBNB on track to attain Stage 1 rollup status on BSC, subject to meeting specific requirements.

The adoption of the AppChain architecture is a strategic maneuver to seamlessly deploy multiple application-specific Layer 2 solutions. This framework not only enhances the connectivity of opBNB but also establishes a robust foundation for the expanding realm of decentralized applications (dApps). opBNB is set to introduce different types of nodes, including Archive node, Full node, and Fast node, catering to diverse user and application needs.
