Wormhole Set to Launch W Token Airdrop Following Uniswap Foundation Approval

This milestone follows a rigorous security and decentralization audit by the Uniswap Foundation’s Bridge Assessment Committee, resulting in Wormhole becoming the sole protocol endorsed by the Uniswap DAO. This move underscores Wormhole’s commitment to decentralizing its operations and governance.

The Wormhole airdrop, aimed at various stakeholders within the community, including ecosystem application users and active participants, seeks to incentivize engagement and contributions across the network.

Eligibility for the Wormhole airdrop is based on user interaction with the ecosystem, with a snapshot taken on February 6, 2024, to identify recipients. However, reports have surfaced regarding issues with the eligibility checker, adding a layer of complexity to the distribution process.

Issues Arise as Eligibility Concerns Surface Ahead of Wormhole Airdrop

Notably, Wormhole recently concluded a successful fundraising round, raising a substantial $225 million. The Wormhole airdrop will distribute 617,305,000 W tokens, equivalent to 6.17% of the total supply, among 397,704 wallet addresses.

Of this allocation, 500,000,000 W tokens are reserved for users who have engaged with Wormhole ecosystem applications across more than 30 connected blockchains. Additionally, approximately 117,305,000 W tokens will be distributed to community users, including various NFT coin communities, the Monad community, and the top 10,000 Pyth stakers.

The Wormhole airdrop program underscores the project’s commitment to acknowledging and rewarding the efforts of dedicated users, developers of multi-chain applications, and community members pivotal in shaping the ecosystem.
