Galaxy Ventures Fund I Targets Crypto Startups

This move marks a strategic shift for Galaxy Ventures, which has historically directed its own capital toward various crypto startups, particularly focusing on infrastructure, decentralized finance, and payment sectors. The decision to launch Galaxy Ventures Fund I and invite external investors was disclosed by a source familiar with the matter.

Galaxy Ventures Fund I, LP, intends to invest in up to 30 startups within the next three years, with an initial investment threshold of $1 million per startup. The fund is set to target financial applications, software infrastructure, and protocols within the crypto realm.

Galaxy’s Move Signals Renewed Investor Confidence

Galaxy Digital boasts a track record of investing $200 million across more than 100 projects over the past six years. While the company’s Interactive team has previously accepted external funding, this marks the first time its venture arm has done so.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Galaxy Digital expressed its commitment to continue supporting early-stage innovators through this new venture fund, emphasizing its role in fueling the digital asset ecosystem.

Galaxy Ventures Fund I reflects a broader trend of the resurgence in venture capital investments within the crypto space. Other entities, such as Paradigm and Hack VC, are also in the process of raising significant funds to invest in crypto startups, signaling renewed investor confidence as the digital asset market rebounds from recent challenges.
