Key Points:
Coinbase has started offering institutional and retail traders the option to place bets on yet-unlaunched digital assets. The feature, called ‘pre-launch markets,’ is an innovative addition by the exchange’s international division.
Pre-listing markets enable traders to place bets on the post-listing token prices, which essentially means selling or buying perpetual futures contracts of tokens not listed on the spot exchanges.
Pre-launch markets are available via the Coinbase International Exchange to some of its institutional users. Coinbase Advanced is available for eligible retail traders, although this falls outside the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Coinbase is elated about the announcement of its support for pre-launch markets on Coinbase International Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. The company aims to empower traders to participate in price discovery for projects yet to be launched within one trusted and secure platform.

Any unlaunched token can be opened in long or short positions of up to 2 times leverage by eligible traders. Pre-launch markets are available to institutional users through Coinbase International Exchange and to retail traders meeting the necessary conditions through Coinbase Advanced.
To access Coinbase Advanced, log into coinbase.com or the Coinbase mobile app, tap the menu, and toggle on ‘Advanced.’ For the best experience, the exchange recommends that users ensure their mobile app is updated with the latest version.
