NCR Atleos Introduces Bitcoin Cashout Capability for LibertyX Users

The NCR Atleos Bitcoin service will be deployed at thousands of merchant locations, which means that when the network is fully deployed, there will be a transaction point within five miles of more than 75% of Americans.

The feature utilizes the one-time-use code system that underpins the Atleos ReadyCode API suite, with a range of underpinning cash-in and cash-out solutions. By design, an embedded finance tool, ReadyCode allows program managers, financial institutions, and merchants to settle a transaction without any prerequisite in terms of traditional cards or networks.

NCR Atleos, the parent company of LibertyX as of January 2022, is a leading provider of cryptocurrency software for ATMs, point-of-sale systems, and kiosks. App users can utilize a locator feature within the LibertyX mobile app to sell Bitcoin and immediately collect the cash at a ReadyCode-enabled Atleos ATM.

NCR Atleos Bitcoin Service to Launch in Over 30 States

Stuart Mackinnon, Atleos COO, underlined the strategic advantage of the new capability:

“Adding an offramp for LibertyX users to convert digital assets to physical cash enhances the value proposition of LibertyX, grows foot traffic at participating merchants, and increases the productivity of our ATMs.”

The NCR Atleos Bitcoin service, initially through more than 30 states, is positioned for a huge expansion in financial access and self-service alternatives. ReadyCode-enabled ATMs allow it easy for consumers to turn cash into cryptocurrencies at point-of-sale locations securely, driving usage through ease of access and supporting Atleos’s commitment to innovation in the financial industry.
