The World ID verification service has been designed to securely and in a decentralized manner, verify users’ identity while laying great emphasis on privacy and convenience.
World ID is a decentralized identity protocol that gives primacy to data privacy, allowing the attestation of an individual’s identity with maximum security without revealing sensitive personal details like one’s name or email address.
In other words, World ID just acts as your digital proof of personhood for web, mobile, and decentralized applications. To get a fully verified World ID, the participants need to physically visit one of the designated orbs. Once verified, World ID can be used across various applications through any compatible wallet, such as the World App.
Worldcoin launching the service in Malaysia will be a step toward making seamless, easy identity verification for individuals and businesses alike. The company does believe that most processes involve verification of identity by offering a decentralized and secure solution, hence improving efficiency and building trust.
The Malaysian launch forms part of the broader ambitious reach as Worldcoin pushes to create a wide-ranging decentralized identity network. Recently, it expanded its orb-based verification service across Europe, including Spain, Austria and Poland.
