Digital Asset Investment Products Rebound After Volatile Start

The week began with a significant $530 million outflow on Monday, triggered by concerns surrounding DeepSeek news. However, the market rebounded strongly, attracting over $1 billion in inflows later in the week. Despite this turbulence, total inflows of digital asset investment products for 2024 have reached $44 billion, with year-to-date (YTD) inflows standing at $5.3 billion.

Regional data shows that the United States led with $474 million in inflows last week, contributing to a total of $5 billion YTD. Europe also exhibits positive sentiment, recording $78 million in inflows last week and $93 million YTD. In contrast, Canada faces $43 million in outflows, potentially due to concerns over U.S. trade tariffs.

Bitcoin Leads as Investors Seek Opportunities

Bitcoin remains the dominant asset, attracting $486 million in inflows last week. Short-bitcoin products also saw interest for the second consecutive week, with inflows totalling $3.7 million.

Ethereum, while ending the week with net-zero flows, experienced early-week losses that are likely tied to its exposure to the technology sector and global economic trends. Meanwhile, XRP has emerged as the second-best performing altcoin, registering $15 million in inflows last week and reaching $105 million YTD.

Investor confidence in blockchain equities continues, with YTD inflows totalling $160 million. Many investors view recent price weakness as a buying opportunity.
