White House Crypto Summit Snubs Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson Left Off Guest List
Key Points:
- Charles Hoskinson was not invited to the White House Crypto Summit and has not participated in any crypto policy discussions.
- The March 7 event will include over 25 participants, while other key figures like Vitalik Buterin and Cathie Wood remain unconfirmed.
Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson will not be attending the upcoming White House Crypto Summit on March 8, according to a White House source cited by Unchained.
The source confirmed that neither Hoskinson nor the Cardano team had been invited and that they have not participated in any crypto-related policy discussions with the administration.
Charles Hoskinson Left Out of White House Crypto Summit
Speculation surrounding Charles Hoskinson’s attendance emerged after former President Donald Trump mentioned that Cardano’s native token, ADA, would be included in a crypto reserve on his Truth Social platform.
ADA, the token associated with Cardano, remains the eighth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, valued at $33.76 billion, and is trading steadily at $0.95.
The summit, set to take place on March 7 from 6:30 pm to 10:30 p.m. UTC, is expected to feature over 25 participants, including key figures from the Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets.
Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett noted that, as of Wednesday, many crypto executives and White House representatives had confirmed their attendance. High-profile attendees include Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, and Strategy’s Michael Saylor.
Trump Administration’s Crypto Policy Takes Shape Without Cardano
As the industry awaits further announcements, there have been calls to include other prominent figures such as ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Circle’s Jeremy Allaire, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, and Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson is also one of the figures the community is looking forward to.
The White House Crypto Summit, led by Silicon Valley investor David Sacks—Trump’s AI and crypto czar—aims to bring together industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to shape the administration’s stance on cryptocurrency. It comes amid growing anticipation over Trump’s position on a potential U.S. cryptocurrency reserve.
Further fueling speculation around Hoskinson’s political engagements were his past statements about attending a VIP dinner, which some interpreted as confirmation of his presence at a fundraising event for the pro-crypto Super PAC MAGA Inc.
However, sources confirm that the Cardano co-founder did not attend the dinner and was instead in Denver for an ETH Denver side event.
MAGA Inc., or Make America Great Again Inc., is an American Super PAC founded on September 23, 2022, to support Donald Trump. It can raise unlimited funds for campaigns and spend them freely to support Trump as long as not coordinated directly with presidential campaigns.
