Harmony Raises The Prize 10 Times To Reclaim Stolen Tokens

Harmony said it has launched a campaign to hunt down the culprit behind the attack that cost the platform $100 million. The reward level is also increased 10 times to get the hacked tokens back.

Harmony is still persistent in searching for the culprit

The project team has also contacted law enforcement agencies as well as Chainalysis and AnChain.AI to identify the culprit. Harmony also raised the ransom amount to 10 million USD, 10 times more than the previous figure.

“Retain $10M and return the remaining stolen amount. In exchange, Harmony will cease its investigation.”

According to the project’s tweet.

An amount of 10 million USD will also be donated to those who provide information to help the project get their money back. Besides, Harmony also gives hackers a deadline of Monday, July 4th, 23:00 GMT.

As updated in a recent Coincu News article, while the investigation is underway, blockchain research organization Elliptic said it is highly likely that a hacker group from North Korea, Lazarus Group, is behind the attack.

Specifically, this attack is done through a multisig wallet. This is how Lazarus did it many times in the past. They also point out how this is similar to the attack that cost Axie Infinity $550 million, which Lazarus is also believed to be the culprit.
