Odisha Government Officer Found With Crypto Worth 1.75 Crore Rupees
Officials stated on Saturday that cryptocurrency worth over Rs 1.75 crore was discovered with a government staffer in Bhubaneswar.
The cryptos were discovered during a Vigilance Department raid on the extra chief engineer in a corruption investigation, they claimed.
On Monday, the officer was set to retire. They claimed the raid, which began on Friday, was still going on Saturday morning.
According to an official statement, the officer and his family attempted to destroy proof of the cryptocurrency they owned as soon as the investigators arrived at their doorway. The amount is sure to climb.
After a judge issued search warrants, detectives conducted simultaneous searches of his properties in the Khurdha, Sambalpur, and Bargarh districts. The cop has yet to be detained.
According to the statement, they discovered eight plots in Sambalpur worth Rs 1.27 crore, an insurance deposit worth approximately Rs 64.42 lakh, two four-wheelers worth Rs 39 lakh, two two-wheelers worth Rs 3 lakh, 332 gm gold jewelry worth over Rs 10 lakh, household articles worth Rs 15.55 lakh, and Rs 1.7 lakh in cash.
