DigiDaigaku CEO Twitter Account Stolen And Promotes A Fake Villains Giveaway
The Twitter account of Gabriel Leydon, CEO of the NFT DigiDaigaku project, is suspected of being stolen, and used by an attacker to promote a fraudulent giveaway link.
On November 3, crypto security firm PeckShieldArlert discovered that the Twitter account of the DigiDaigaku project CEO had been hacked. It is known that the bad guy took advantage of the account to advertise a fake Villans Giveaway. Warning villians-digidaigaku.com is the phishing site.
Attackers stole MAYC #5738 NFT and sold it on OpenSea for 11.45 WETH, profiting almost $18,000.
On the side of DigiDaigaku CEO, confirmed the hacked account information, the account was hacked with sim swapping even though the sim was blocked by the mobile service provider and the sim was changed in an ATT store in the United States at 5:39 p.m. EST.
The project is tracking down the attackers and claiming damages.
DigiDaigaku is a collection of 2022 unique characters developed by Limit Break, a company founded by world famous game designers Gabriel Leydon and Halbert Nakagawa.
On August 30, Limit Break raised $200 million in two funding rounds giving this NFT collection a new hit. Immediately, the floor price of NFT increased by 102.7 percent to 15 ETH/NFT . The 24-hour trading volume has increased by 440%, reaching $4.4 million.
