Azuki NFT Holds AMA On Discord Amid All The Noise About New Collection
Key Points:
- Azuki NFT plans to hold an AMA event in Discord tomorrow with the participation of 2 other co-founders.
- Azuki Elementals NFT Mint sold out less than 15 minutes after launch with the reveal of a new airdrop.
- However, there have been many criticisms about Azuki Elementals being too close to the original collection, creating a rift in the NFT space.
ZAGABOND.ETH, the co-founder of the Azuki NFT, announced on Twitter that the team will join the Azuki Discord at 18:00 PT on June 29. An AMA event will be held, when ZAGABOND will be joining the Azuki Discord.ETH will join two other co-authors of the project.
According to the news yesterday, after Azuki’s sale of Elemental caused controversy, Azuki announced that they would make further statements and plans regarding Elementals.
Some community members have discovered that the contract address Elemental Beans has launched a new contract called Green Bean. Azuki’s official Twitter suggests that they will broadcast the “Green Bean” NFT to holders.
Introducing a new contract by “Green Bean” has sparked speculation about a potential connection to the Elementals collection. The community eagerly awaits further updates from Azuki.
The project announced yesterday that it had achieved tremendous success with releasing its latest NFT expansion, Azuki “Elementals”. Within 15 minutes, the project generated a staggering $38 million.
Azuki Elementals were launched at the “Follow the Rabbit” event in Las Vegas, exclusively for Azuki holders. A portion of the 20,000 NFTs, representing the elements of earth, fire, lightning, and water, have been sent to these lucky holders.
On June 27, the Elementals minting event started at noon ET. Now, NFT holders from the original Azuki collection have been granted access to minting. Then, at 12:10 p.m. ET, it will be time for Beanz NFT holders to mint.
But due to Azuki’s failure to limit the number of Elements that any single collector could mint, the full supply of the sister collection was available right in the window. Beanz, long before the scheduled public sale begins.
Although the minting was met with a lot of backlashes, with many Azuki holders satisfied with the process, countless others expressed disappointment that, despite the timing, they were unable to obtain an Elemental. Since there is no limit to individual minting, one user even won a staggering 332 Elementals during the pre-sale, meaning many Beanz holders were unable to mint.
However, the public reaction to the Elementals minting mechanism was only the tip of the iceberg. Because after the art was revealed, it became clear that the Elementals didn’t live up to its hype. Notably, many argue that the newly launched collection has too many striking similarities compared to the previous collection.
It took a little while for Azuki to respond to both opponents and supporters of his new collection. Less than a day after the Elementals minting began, the brand took to Twitter to address the situation. Azuki wrote in a thread that they missed the target this time, besides admitting mistakes in the hectic minting process.
In this thread, Azuki goes on to explain the grand vision of the Elementals, saying that the collection is meant to “welcome new members to the community” while also expanding the Azuki universe and allowing the creation of “a new anime is being produced” This also somewhat softened the community’s reaction.
