DIA (DIA): A Decentralized Oracle Platform

DIA (Decentralised Information Asset) is a decentralized oracle platform designed to facilitate the acquisition, provision, and sharing of reliable data for market participants. DIA's primary goal is to establish an ecosystem that promotes open financial data within a financial smart contract framework. The platform brings together data analysts, providers, and users to act as a trustworthy bridge between off-chain data from various sources and on-chain smart contracts. This enables the development of diverse financial decentralized applications (DApps).

DIA functions as the governance token for the ecosystem, adhering to the Ethereum protocol's ERC-20 standard.

The project was conceived in 2018, and the public had the opportunity to acquire tokens through a bonding curve sale that took place from Aug. 3 to Aug. 17, 2020. During this sale, 10.2 million tokens were sold.

Key Individuals Behind DIA

The DIA association was co-founded by a group of talented individuals, led by Paul Claudius, Michael Weber, and Samuel Brack.

Paul Claudius, also known as a CBO, plays a prominent role in the project as the chief advocate. He holds a master's degree in international management from ESCP Europe and a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Passau University. Besides his involvement with DIA, he is the co-founder and CEO of BlockState AG and c ventures. Prior to his engagement with the cryptocurrency industry, he served as a director for a nutrition company called nu3.

Michael Weber, the Founder and Association President of DIA, is a well-respected figure in the field. He holds degrees in management from ESCP Business School and economics and physics from the University of Cologne, Germany. With a background in various banks and financial institutions, Weber has also founded projects such as Goodcoin, myLucy, and BlockState.

Samuel Brack acts as the CTO of DIA and holds the same position at BlockState. He possesses a master's degree in computer science from Humboldt University of Berlin, and as of January 2020, he is pursuing his PhD at the same institution.

The Unique Approach of DIA

DIA strives to become a leading source of financial data akin to Wikipedia. The platform specifically tackles the challenges faced by the finance and crypto industries, such as outdated, unverified, and hard-to-access data, particularly in the realm of decentralized finance (DeFi). DIA proposes to overcome this issue by implementing a system that incentivizes users to contribute open-source, validated data streams to the oracles. Currently, these oracles lack transparency, scalability, and are vulnerable to attacks.

The DIA governance token will be crucial for funding data collection, validation, governance voting, and encouraging platform development. Users can stake DIA tokens to facilitate the inclusion of new data on the platform, while access to historical data through DIA will remain free.
