What is Tezos?
Tezos is an open-source proof of stake blockchain platform known for its energy efficiency, security focus, and seamless upgradability. The platform aligns with the wider efforts of the community to promote environmental sustainability and continue evolving.
A Brief History of Tezos
In August 2014, Tezos was first proposed by $2 through a position paper. The project was further detailed in a white paper released in September 2014. Breitman designed Tezos as a token issuance and smart contract platform, incorporating an innovative governance model. This model allows XTZ holders to vote on proposed protocol upgrades, eliminating the need for network forking.
To bring Tezos to life, the Breitmans established a company called Dynamic Ledger Solutions (DLS) in 2015. DLS was responsible for developing the initial codebase of Tezos. The platform aims to formalize the process of proposing and implementing upgrades, bringing stability and innovation to the blockchain system.
