Playboy Cooperates With The Sandbox To Build MetaMansion
The popular adult magazine Playboy has tried to increase its presence in the Web3 space by launching a virtual event with The Sandbox (SAND).
According to an announcement on July 11, the entertainment magazine will partner with The Sandbox to launch a virtual version of the Playboy mansion called MetaMansion. This will be the venue for a series of gaming, social and promotional events for Playboy’s NFT collections in the future.
MetaMansion is also built on top of Playboy’s Rabbitars NFT project, which includes 11,953 encrypted rabbit avatars for around $800 per NFT as of October 2021. Owners of these NFTs will soon be able to access exclusive experiences at MetaMansion. However, the specifics and launch date are yet to be revealed.
At press time, the floor price of Rabbitar NFT on OpenSea sits at 0.19 Ethereum (ETH), or around $206, marking a 74.25% drop since its October launch.
In addition, Sandbox also announced that users will be able to move neighboring NFT plots to MetaMansion by the end of the third quarter of 2022. The Sandbox CEO and co-founder Sébastien Borget said:
“This collaboration brings to the metaverse a distinctive vision of beauty that made the brand renowned around the world. Now, the Playboy brand can interact with a new metaverse-native generation in The Sandbox, sharing its history and art through a platform where everyone is united by global digital culture.”
In fact, this is not the first time Playboy has pushed its exposure into the crypto industry. In April 2021, the company released its first NFT artwork through the Nifty Gateway.
