Coca-Cola Drops ‘A Special Digital Collectible’ On Polygon
Coca-Cola made an announcement that it is “thanking fans who’ve been a part of the brand’s journey into the metaverse over the last year with a special digital collectible drop” on July 7, which is “International Friendship Day” in the United States.
Polygon Studios took to Twitter on Sunday, announcing a Coca-Cola digital collectible drop on Polygon.
The Coca-Cola Company shared the news with the headline “Coca-Cola Marks First Anniversary in the Metaverse with Collectibles Drop on International Friendship Day.”
Coca-Cola has apparently produced over 4,000 digital artifacts, which will be available beginning on International Friendship Day 2021. With digital collectibles, the soft-drinks firm has commemorated a number of cultural milestones, including International Friendship Day 2021; International Burger Day, and International Pride Day.
Pratik Thakar, Head of Global Creative Strategy of the company, had this to say:
“International Friendship Day—which launched our metaverse journey in 2021—is the perfect milestone opportunity to thank and celebrate the people who have joined us.
We hope to strengthen and expand our ‘Real Magic’ community by building connections through a variety of physical and virtual Coca-Cola experiences… We will continue to learn in this fast-moving space through limited-edition collectible launches tied to key cultural moments with a focus on building our virtual ecosystem by surprising and delighting fans.“
For Polygon and MATIC, collaborations and partnerships with companies such as Disney and Coca-Cola can only be positive. MATIC is currently recovering to July high of $1.
