Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, has just posted a picture of himself as a child on Instagram and announced that the card will soon be sold as NFT.

The 1992 Little League baseball card was given by Zuckerberg to Allie Tarantino, his former summer camp supervisor. This person stored, molded the image into NFT, and sold it with a signed card.

Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Instagram:

“In honor of the expansion of collectible digital NFTs to 100 other countries on Instagram and the launch of new integrations with Coinbase and Dapper, I share my NFT baseball card, which someone recently found and sent.”

Tarantino said:

“On the back of the card, Zuckerberg wrote his hit rate of 0.920 – an almost impossible feat in baseball. Even as a kid, Zuckerberg had big goals.”

The information was shared by Mark Zuckerberg on the occasion of Instagram rolling out NFT in more than 100 countries across Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas.

After 3 months of testing, Instagram users can now post NFT images in posts, messages, or augmented reality (AR) stickers in Stories. NFT creators and collectors are automatically tagged for copyright protection.

Instagram is supporting Coinbase, Dapper, Rainbow, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet. In addition to the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains, the platform will also be compatible with Flow soon.

Since the start of the crypto winter, the NFT market has also been continuously plunging. Still, this hasn’t stopped Zuckerberg’s ambitions for the metaverse and digital collections.

Meta, Twitter, and Reddit are all promoting NFT projects but there is no data on the direction of these platforms. The value of NFT collections is predicted to explode once Zuckerberg successfully combines AR and virtual reality (VR) technologies.
