ConsenSys Releases Free NFT To Celebrate The Merge
The Merge is bringing a new wave to the crypto community, leading many platforms to launch two campaigns to catch the trend. ConsenSys is also one of them, and the company plans to release a series of NFTs for Ethereum’s historic upgrade.
In celebration of the most important event in Ethereum’s history, Metamask wallet parent company ConsenSys is releasing one of the organization’s first landmark sustainable NFT collections, Regenesis.
Inspired by Ethereum’s transition from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus, Regenesis will include different versions of NFT in the world of cost simulation technology. Elaborate detail demonstrates the benefits of merging, including sustainability, security, and scalability. ConsenSys will collaborate with artist Chris Skinner and animation studio Keithcity Group to design the collection.
The collection’s main theme will mainly showcase Ethereum’s ambitious architecture in the Web3 space as well as improved efficiency in terms of transaction speed and power savings in terms of platform-side intent.
Based on a report from the Ethereum Foundation, the transition to PoS is estimated to reduce energy consumption by up to 99% since PoW is said to consume the same amount of energy as a medium-sized country.
NFT Regenesis will be minted for free on The Merge day, scheduled for September 15-16. The only costs incurred will be from paying gas fees, which can vary significantly based on activity on the Ethereum mainnet.
According to ConsenSys, Regenesis is simply a collection of artwork celebrating a major technological milestone the company will look back on as an early moment in Web3’s evolution. As part of technological memorabilia, the utility of this NFT collection only comes from demonstrating that users have witnessed one of the greatest advancements in crypto industry history.
