Golden Gate University Provides Education About Blockchain And Crypto
Golden Gate University in California will provide blockchain and cryptocurrency education in conjunction with the decentralized web development organization Filecoin Foundation.
The curriculum will concentrate on decentralized storage, Web3 technologies, and the future generation of the internet, while leveraging the expansion of the crypto sector, according to a news release issued by the Filecoin Foundation on September 7.
The initiative will see the institution’s new Filecoin Foundation Blockchain Academy Lab offer meetups and training sessions to cater to the rising interest in cryptocurrencies at the university level. Blockchain Law for Social Good Center Founding Director, Michele Neitz said:
“Over the past year, we’ve seen a surging interest in the technology powering cryptocurrency and Web3. As a Bay Area law school, we want to provide our students–and our larger community–with the resources they need to learn about these innovative, emerging technologies and their socially beneficial uses.”
Following plans to establish the lab, Neitz disclosed that it has already received inquiries regarding training from government institutions:
“We expect to host government officials and policymakers, professors from law schools and other educational institutions, attorneys and industry leaders, and students from all walks of life.”
The lab has planned its first annual conference for October 20 and 21, 2023, ahead of the launch of the teaching programs. In addition, Golden Gate University’s lab is set to launch its Teaching Fellow Program, which will produce blockchain specialists in legal education. There are proposals to expand the curriculum outside the institution to a community college.
