Cosmos Hub Releases Voting Schedule After White Paper Update
On October 29, an updated version of the Cosmos Hub white paper went available, with the community now poised to vote on the document.
Concerns about the Cosmos token (ATOM) issuance methodology, among other things, were addressed in the current iteration, according to the project.
The first version of the paper was published in September, proposing a redesigned Hub focused on strengthening interoperability and security, as well as key changes to its token, including a new issuance model aimed at striking a better balance between ecosystem growth and interchain adoption while retaining the security afforded by the original regime.
During the transition phase, 10,000,000 ATOM would be released in the first month, gradually reducing until it reached the steady state phase 36 months later. Instead, the new version suggests a 4,000,000 ATOM mint into the communal pool.
Members of the community expressed worry over the token’s revised suggested issuance strategy provided by Sam Hart, Strategy Lead of the Cosmos Hub, who claimed that minting a considerable number of ATOM will result in reduced inflation levels.
In addition, the white paper described two functions, the Interchain Scheduler and Interchain Allocator, as well as a new optimized issuance regime for liquid staking.
According to the paper, the suggested plan would be controlled by the Cosmos Councils, which are made up of domain-specialized institutions that would be in charge of development and operations.
