Highlight, the generative NFT art platform, has officially launched on the Ethereum blockchain.
The platform offers users the ability to create, test, and mint computer-generated art as NFTs. The team behind Highlight has implemented a unique approach to creator fees, allowing artists to keep 100% of the funds from a sale, while buyers only pay a small fee. The platform is positioning itself as the first open platform for generative art on Ethereum.
Highlight CEO Nathaniel Emodi expressed his excitement for the launch, stating that the platform includes self-owned contracts, open editions, and much more. The team has also partnered with some of the world’s best-known generative artists, such as Melissa Wiederrecht, James Merrill, Holger Lippmann, Leander Herzog, and many others, to create upcoming drops.
Highlight has already raised $11 million in funding to date, with a funding round occurring in May of 2022. The round was led by Katie Haun of Haun Ventures, with additional participation from 1kx, A_Capital, SciFi VC, Floodgate, Coinbase Ventures, 35 Ventures, Polygon Studios, Mischief VC, DAOJones, Offline Ventures, Gokul Rajaram, Lenny Rachitsky, WME, Method Management, and ThreeSixZero.
Emodi has ambitious plans for Highlight, aiming to make it the most accessible and inclusive platform for on-chain generative art. To achieve this goal, the team plans to provide support for credit card payments, email sign-in, physical print orders, and other convenient features that grow the overall size of the crypto art community.
