$20M in Bitfinex Hacker Funds Stolen from U.S. Government Wallet
A wallet holding Bitfinex hacker funds and linked to the US government was just hacked for over $20 million in assets. The assets stolen were initially in USDT and USDC and have been promptly converted into Ethereum.
After being converted, the funds have been moved across several wallets, including some labeled as “Binance Deposit.” Arkham analysts believe the attacker is laundering the stolen assets through suspicious addresses tied to money laundering services. The incident now raises serious questions about the safety of previously seized hacker funds.

Stolen Bitfinex Hacker Funds Laundered via Ethereum Transfers
According to Arkham, the Bitfinex hacker funds stolen from a U.S. government address were worth approximately $20 million. The hacker has already begun laundering those assets: first by converting the USDT and USDC into ETH, and later by distributing the funds to various Binance-linked addresses.
Experts claim that the attacker is likely to be using a network of suspicious addresses affiliated with illicit services to obscure any trail of funds. Despite this theft, over $13 million in AUSDC remains within the compromised wallet, posing a continued risk for further laundering.
