NFT game Genopets has raised $8.3 million (roughly Rs. 62 crores) in a seed funding round. The game was introduced earlier this year, and it rewards players for the steps they take in their real lives, a little like Pokemon Go.

What is Genopets?

This Pokemon-looking game is a free-to-play and move-to-earn NFT mobile game built on Solana that capitalizes on a fun and healthy lifestyle. Genopets applies data tracked by fitness wearables with blockchain-enabled mechanics. What is the unique selling point?

Genopet

Genopet is an NFT encrypted with your fingerprint and personality data. All players can summon and mint their NFT Genopet for free.

Starting as an infant, your Genopet can go through 77 levels of upgrades and 12 stages of material evolution with loads of customizations to make it unique and your own.

Genopet grows and evolves based on the XP you earn doing quests, fighting solo PvE bosses, taking Genopet for a walk, and going for a jog after dinner. As you invest time and effort, your Genopet will naturally increase in value.

Make your Genopet happy with head pats and keep it healthy by keeping it and its environment clean. As you grow in life, your Genopet will follow.

Augment NFT

Augment NFT is an NFT that you can use to enhance the physical properties and performance of Genopet.

Due to Genopet’s cybernetic nature, you can swap out their body parts for a better look. To do this you must complete PvE quests to unlock special body modification functions.

Crystals NFT

Crystals NFT can be crafted using GENE tokens, KI tokens through Habitat Lab. Each Crystals will have a different shape and role that affects Genopet’s gameplay and evolution.

Example: When you use Fire Crystals, you can change Genopet’s appearance to the style of fire for a while. Your Genopet can also use fire as a weapon to attack in matches.

Habitats NFT

Habitats are NFT-encoded habitats where Genopets live and evolve. Habitats can be purchased on the Marketplace or crafted using $GENE, $KI, or Crystals

Players can unlock their habitats to craft Gene Crystals directly and earn more in-game KI tokens.

Different types of environments have different effects on Genopet such as: skills, Gene Crystals.

Players can rent/rent their Habitats to earn extra income. Each environment can only support one Genopet at a time.

The Genopet’s habitat must be periodically maintained with Crystals, or it will crash and no more SKI tokens can be earned.
