The ETH game Axie Infinity launched Ronin as a sidechain, which now has its own decentralized exchange Katana, with which users can exchange tokens without bridging ETH and have new ecosystem tokens called RON.

The Ethereum-based game Axie Infinity became popular in the summer after the launch of Ronin, a custom sidechain that enables fast, low-cost transactions and now has an add-on with its own decentralized exchange implementation with the game’s increase in value as well.

Launched early this morning, Katana is a DEX that runs on Ronin and makes it easy for Axie Infinity players to swap tokens on the sidechain. This means that players don’t have to connect tokens to Etheruem first, which also brings fees and other problems. With the first release of Katana, players will be able to swap the Smooth Love Potion bonus token and Axie Infinity’s AXS governance token along with Ethereum-wrapped and the stablecoin, which is pegged to US dollars. Since it is a decentralized exchange, all transactions take place in a user-supported liquidity pool without a central supervisory authority or a middleman.

Sky Mavis, the developers of Axie Infinity, have introduced a new RON ecosystem token that will be used for all Ronin transactions. Currently, users are allowed 100 free ronin transactions per day, but the network will switch to using RON for all ronin fees. In addition, users can join SLP / ETH pools on Katana and bring more liquidity and earn rewards.
