Crypto.com supports mainnet beta launch via Cronos Bridge
Cronos has announced the launch of a beta version of its mainnet, which should enable better interoperability between the Cosmos and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystems.
The release will enable developers to move decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts from Ethereum and EMV compatible chains to the Cronos network at low cost and high speed due to the integrated transport protocol Inter-Blockchain Communications (IBC). This will give access to Crypto.com’s strong 10 million customer base.
Cronos is built on top of the Cosmos blockchain and operated by Ethermint – a consensus mechanism to prove authority – and operates alongside the Crypto.org chain.

In the days leading up to its launch, the Cronos team published a Medium blog post detailing the complex process of connecting cross-chain assets such as the Crypto.com ecosystem to Crono or connecting the CRO platform’s native token to the chain from Crypto.org with the Cronos chain via IBC.
Crono announced its Testnet service in July of this year and has since enabled 1.5 million transactions from over 600,000 wallet addresses. Kris Marszalek, CEO and co-founder of Crypto.com, said at the time that he expected a “boom in activity on Cronos” and was determined to drive the success of the project’s success from start to finish.
That support was demonstrated by the launch of a $ 100 million grant fund by the Particle B blockchain accelerator, which is designed to split $ 1 million evenly across a hundred projects that implement their application.

Since its inception, the Cronos ecosystem has attracted over 20 validators, including Bison Trails, several well-known decentralized tools such as Chainlink and Band Protocol, Wallets Metamask and Crypto.com, and relationship partners with DeFi, NFT and gaming platforms and projects.
The Cron roadmap from Q1 and Q2 of 2022 outlines the intention to bring the mainnet version of Gravity Bridge onto the market and to integrate additional IBC channels and IBC token whitelists.
