Vogue, a fashion and lifestyle magazine based in Singapore, has entered the world of non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles. Arthur Baldwin Turnure founded the fashion firm in 1892, and the Corporation has since created a number of international offshoots.

On November 10, Vogue Singapore announced the launch of Vogue’s first NFT collection, which will be hosted on Opensea. The collection will include “two digital-only cover NFTs created in collaboration with domestic and international digital designers,” according to Vogue Singapore’s team.

Chad Knight, a metaverse artist and Nike 3D designer, collaborated with Jamela Law and Lionel Wong of Singapore-based design firm, Balf Design, on one of the Vogue Singapore NFT covers. “Triumphant Awakening” is the title of the animated cover created by Knight, Law, and Wong.

The cover “presents a gold statuette standing in front of a rotating blue planet with a radiant sun perennially rising and setting in an elliptical arc. A regal headdress — envisaged by Baëlf Design using an AI-algorithm to create organic fractal patterns — adorns the goddess, finely detailed and liberated from the laws of physics,” Vogue Singapore’s announcement explains.

The second digital Vogue cover, “The Renaixance Rising,” was designed to be a programmable NFT. The “The Renaixance Rising” piece was created by NFT artists The Fabricant and Shavonne Wong, and the lighting changes depending on the time of day it is viewed. In addition, Vogue is releasing two “beauty NFTs” designed by Korean make-up artist Dain Yoon and the Singaporean-Italian studio Lanzavecchia + Wai.

“All inspired by the global theme of ‘New Beginnings,’ Yoon’s work features various surreal interpretations of a new dawn — from cherry blossoms painted on her body to an intricate peacock make-up look emblazoned on her face — while Lanzavecchia + Wai created the ‘Living Vase 01’ and ‘Flower: Collectible,’ which depicts an eternal flowering vase that blooms and wilts with each sunrise,”
