6 Crypto CEOs will testify in front of the US House of Representatives on December 8th

The US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee has notification that several executives of major crypto companies in the United States will speak at a hearing to discuss digital assets and the future of US finances.

It is the first time that major players in the crypto space have testified in front of the House of Representatives as lawmakers are struggling to understand and regulate the new financial product.

Six crypto executives present at the hearing

Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle (USD Coin), is high on the list of executives who will attend the hearing.

The list also includes Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO and founder of the FTX exchange; Brian Brooks, who recently took over as CEO of mining company Bitfury in November and is a former senior executive of the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Chad Cascarilla, CEO of stablecoin and brokerage firm Paxos, will also appear. Paxos is best known for providing crypto services for PayPal and Facebook’s Novi Wallet.

Denelle Dixon, CEO of the Stellar Development Foundation, and Alesia Haas, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Coinbase, will also attend.

Congressman Waters will chair the panel

The committee is chaired by Maxine Waters (D-CA), Chairwoman of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services.

Waters previously held a hearing on Facebook’s proposed 2019 crypto plans, as well as other central bank crypto, digital and digital currency seminars.

The hearing was titled “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Understanding the Challenges and Benefits of Financial Innovation in the United States”. The hearing description page states that the aim of the event is to hold financial companies accountable to consumers and investors.

The hearing will be held via an online webcast on December 8th (Synthetic Team time) at 10:00 p.m.
