You will have a hard time finding a football fan who at some point won’t be blinded by Diego Maradona’s extraterrestrial talent, and EX Sports is now giving everyone the chance to own a piece of football history linked to their legend.

EX Sports Activities, a platform that enables fans to buy, trade and sell unique digital sports collectibles in the form of an Unsold Token (NFT), recently launched “Collections” Maradona NFT, “the first 10 rare Maradona memorabilia includes official Maradona NFTs. On October 30th, four “Platinum NFTs” were auctioned during a VIP-only event at the DMCC Crypto Center in Dubai. Successful bidders will also have access to a range of unique Maradona items, including :

  • Signed Argentina jersey from the entire 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
  • A pen ST Dupont Maradona once signed for the Italian club Napoli in 1984.
  • The title of best player was awarded by El Mundo at the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship.

Each item is officially certified by Planet Soccerasure, one of the world’s largest collectors of soccer memorabilia, and the Maradona brand name and use were duly approved by the manager, Maradona’s old and close friend Stefano Ceci, who also attended the event. In total, the items sold for $ 79,000.

EX Sporting activities now offer fans a cheaper chance to own one of the six remaining Maradona memorabilia. A limited number of “golden NFTs” is assigned to each physical object. From December 5th, a new “Gold NFT” will be listed every two days on the newly launched EX Sports Marketplace.

Buyers of “Gold NFTs” automatically enter a competition to win the corresponding physical item of the memorabilia and the corresponding “Platinum NFT”. The collection includes the Napoli match shirt, a ball used in the Napoli vs Spartak Moscow game and a captain’s armband with the Puma logo.

EX Sports CEO Toli Makris said, “Blockchain is about giving access to smaller people. “This campaign is a prime example of how we can do that.”

The lucky winners will be invited to the Grand Finals Gala in Dubai on December 13th at Dubai’s Billionaire, where they will receive items. But even those who miss it will still have a digital collection that will only be available in limited numbers and owners will have the option to sell or swap them in the future.
