Animoca Brands leads a $ 130 million investment in Hong Kong mutual fund Brinc to expand into Web 3 and blockchain games
Brinc venture capital fund has closed a $ 130 million financing round led by investor Animoca Brands. Brinc completed a $ 30 million Series B round and an additional $ 100 million in start-up investments, the company said.
This money will be used to support Brinc’s expansion into new areas like Web 3, DeFi, blockchain games, and more.
Animoca Brands ‘investment is a continuation of the two companies’ ongoing partnership following the joint development of NFT.
Brinc, the Hong Kong-based company, claims to have grown more than 200 startups since it was founded in 2014.
The Brinc investment comes after Animoca and Binance Smart Chain launched a $ 200 million program to invest in blockchain gaming projects.
Animoca Brands, also based in Hong Kong, is an investor in NFT and Metaverse projects and has a majority stake in The Sandbox. The company received a valuation of $ 2.2 billion in a $ 65 million financing round in October this year.
