Cryptocurrency airdrops create a lot of buzz in their community, but they don’t often make headlines. In this case, however, an airdrop of the token sparked an ecosystem-wide frenzy.

Time to drop the microphone

So you love NFT. But do you love them as much as OpenDAO? The DAO stated that in order to pay tribute to the creators and collectors of NFT, they will stream their SOS tokens to anyone who has purchased from OpenSea.

Of the total of 100 trillion SOS tokens, 50% are streamed to OpenSea users. The amount a user can claim is based on a formula that takes into account their OpenSea transactions. The OpenDAO website reported,

“The allocation is based on the total amount of transactions (weight of 30%) and the volume of transactions to ETH, DAI & USDC (weight of 70%) to OpenSea. Users have until June 30, 2022 to claim their tokens. After that, all remaining tokens will be sent to the DAO treasury. ”

You can imagine how that exploded.

Almost 48% of airdrop addresses have received over 23.9 trillion SOS airdrops. The number of airdrops from 10 million to 50 million and 100 million to 500 million addresses is the largest. There are 77 airdrop addresses with more than 10 billion.

Approximately 29,269,796,826,356.01 SOS were requested in about a day.

Is the recipient rich now? At the time of going to press, OpenDAO is listed as one of the top bulls on the coin market cap. SOS trades at $ 0.00009618 after a 1391.39% markup in just one day.

Fraud or fraud?

While some users expressed their enthusiasm and shared their earnings, the others were suspicious and wondered if the whole thing was a complex fraud.

Needless to say, caution is always required. After all, the OpenDAO website was only recently created. Additionally, there is little or no information about the project’s development team or its founders.

According to Etherscan, as of press time, the token has 124,664 holders and there have been 261,391 transfers. It should also be noted that both KuCoin and Huobi the SOS token is listed.

So is OpenDAO the token OpenSea users have been waiting for or just another gimmick in the world? For now, analysts will have to wait for the hype to subside.
