Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, announced that it is now accepting cryptocurrency in collaboration with the donation solution The Giving Block.

The popular crypto charity platform offers a wide variety of digital assets, including memes like Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Dogelon Mars (ELON), as well as similar cryptocurrencies) and citizenship (CVC).

The foundation is named after Susan Goodman Komen, a model who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33 and who died three years later. In 1980 her younger sister Nancy Brinker founded the organization.

Komen needs donations so that she can raise awareness about health issues and fund breast cancer research. Its research investments have grown to $ 1.1 billion since 1982.

A mainstay of crypto charity

Cryptocurrency holders are encouraged to donate crypto instead of cash as it is more tax efficient. It should be noted that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) classifies cryptocurrencies as property for tax reasons.

The Giving Block was founded in 2018 and has partnered with hundreds of charities. Humanity Forward, a nonprofit founded by Andrew Yang, started accepting cryptocurrencies in May.

Earlier this month, The Giving Block announced a new service aimed at simplifying the crypto donation process for wealthy individuals.

Last month, the popular charity platform also founded 15 new non-profit organizations with the common goal of making it easier for donors to support.
